Our thatched roof house is situated on 4500 sqm of land between Marsch and Geest with an unobstructed view of the nature and bird sanctuary around the river Treene.
The original house is now the 2-storey apartment "Tante Else's" and the part that the cows used to call home is our part of the house.
But why "Tante Else's"? The name goes back to the last farmer - "Tante Else" - who ran the farm until she sold the house in the 80s. We thought it was right to name the part of the house where she spent most of her life after her.
HOUSE
Garden
Standing in the garden in the morning, breathing the clear, cool air and watching the sun rise is certainly one of the most perfect things to experience.
The house and the garden are oriented to the east and the hammock and numerous seating areas, which are spread all over the garden, invite you to linger, enjoy peace or just watch the sunrise.
Life in Süderhöft is peaceful and quiet. Various species of birds that you can hardly see in the city, hares, deer and - my personal highlight: storks - can be admired regularly in the garden and in the area.
If you're lucky, even the village's own owl shows itself in all its glory and impressive size.
In the garden you will find fruit trees and shrubs to have the occasional snack. If the garden's own apple, pear and currant are not sufficient, further apple and pear trees or raspberries or blackberries grow in many spots in close vicinity to the house.
